Meet the Owner

Karen Knuckles opened Express Employment Professionals in Spartanburg, South Carolina in May 2007.  Karen and her husband Tony moved from Cleveland, Ohio after falling in love with Spartanburg and all it had to offer while visiting relative in 2006.

The vision of the Express Spartanburg team is to help companies in the Spartanburg area find qualified employees while also helping members of the community find good jobs.

Prior to opening the Express office, Karen worked for over 15 years in various human resources management positions.  She worked for eight years as the sr. human resources director at Keybank in Cleveland, Ohio.  She also worked for seven years at Eaton Corporation as the human resources manager of their Cleveland facilities.

Karen earned an executive masters of business administration from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor's in business administration from Cleveland State University.

As an active member of the community, Karen serves on the Board of Directors of the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce and is the chairperson of their diversity committee.  She is also a member of the Spartanburg Human Resources Association.
